The Transformation and Upgrading of the countryside's Biogas Development

According to the information on the website of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), up to February 19th, the number of the families using biogas in China had reached 43 million, benefiting a population of more than 150 million, announced by the NDRC today. The transformation and upgrading of the countryside’s biogas development is a project to be vigorously promoted in 2016, while the NDRC will continue to invest under the budget of the central government to support the project.

The NDRC announced that, during the 12th five-year plan, the investment, arranged by the central government to support the transformation and upgrading of the countryside’s biogas development, had totaled 14.2 billion Yuan. The NDRC also announced that, during the year of 2015, the NDRC and the related departments had printed and distributed the working scheme about the transformation and upgrading of the countryside’s biogas development, arranging an investment of about 2 billion under the budget of the central government. Moreover, the NDRC and the related departments also supported 386 large-scale countryside’s biogas projects which could produce biogas over 500 cubic meters a day; and 25 large-scale biogas experiments which could produce biogas over 10 thousand cubic meters a day.

DLG, CBS and Tsinghua University will hold the 2016 Sino-German BioEnergy Conference & Foyer from 13 - 14 October in Eastern China Jinan city. The annual national conference expects 500 participants from Chinese bioenergy companies, experts and rural energy bureaus to share information and knowledge on policy,technological innovations and discuss the industry’s development, opportunities and challenges, with increased focus on international scope.
